Raw, unedited footage of me painting a cute duck in Procreate! Often we see these amazing polished and accomplished tutorials. 43:06 do you this step on the same layer as the step before?
Hi! The time stamp seems to be at the end. Let me know where the step in the video is so I can assist you better, thank you!
This concept is just genius. Like many artists I can draw flowers all day long, but struggle with animal poses. You're also much nicer than my art professors from college who used to "correct" my perspectives by drawing all over my attempts 😅
Haha!! 😂 I know what you mean, had my fair share of similar art teachers! So glad you like the product 🤗
Thank you for all techniques shared
It's my pleasure! 🤗
Lisa thank you so much for sharing this! I was always so frustrated that it takes me forever to pick a colour for shadows! It’s good to see that it is not necessarily as obvious as I thought (and was beating myself up about 😂) Another super cute character! So adorable 🥰
Are Photoshop and Illustrator CS6 compatible?
Hi! The toolkit will work with Adobe Photoshop CS6 but unfortunately the Adobe Illustrator version is for CC only. If you are interested in getting the Adobe Illustrator version, you can pop me an email to help@lisaglanz.com and I'll assist you further. Thank you so much!
@@Lisaglanz Thank you!!!!!
Hi i want to make storybook with your kit is that okay?
Yes absolutely! The toolkit license does include commercial use. Hope that answers your question. If you have any other questions at all, please don't hesitate to let me know.
@@Lisaglanz thank you sweetheart 🥰🥰🥰
Hi Lisa, I bought those brushes set, how you export without the paper texture background, like a png with transparency after the paint it's done. Thxs
Thank you so much for your purchase, it's much appreciated! I have a tutorial that shows you how to do that, which you can find here: ua-cam.com/video/a9XvIBbtgNc/v-deo.htmlsi=t1gzVh7bFJknXNtu Hope that helps!
I bought your brushes and I did the warm up now doing this one but is my color burn supposed to look red and yellowish ? Looks different than yours not sure what I did. Thanks
Thank you so much for your purchase, it's much appreciated! The colour burn blend mode results depend on the base colour and the blend colour. It will usually given a higher saturation result. So it yours is too strong, you can reduce the opacity of that layer until you get the results you want. Hope that helps!
I really love your content so glad I stumbled across your channel!
Thank you so much for your kind words! So happy you enjoy my content. Glad you stumbled across my channel 🤗❤️
How can I find the brushes?
Hi! Super happy you're interested in the brushes! You can find the link in the description, I'll include it here as well: www.lisaglanz.com/shop/dreamland-brushbox-texture-brushes-for-procreate/
Hi, it sounds really cool. Do you use Adobe Illustrator on your PC or as App on your tablet? Or is this the same?
Hi! Great questions! For this class you'll need the full desktop version of Adobe illustrator, the reason for this is we'll be using a few features to speed up our workflow that is only available on the desktop version. Hope that answers your question!
This is a great kit! Thanks so much, Lisa! Can’t wait to try all the templates 😊
Whoohoo! Super happy you're enjoying it! Happy template exploring and creating ❤️🤗
Hi Lisa! Any possibility of this class using Procreate and Affinity Designer?
Hi! You will definitely benefit from watching the workflows of how I use the raster images with vector elements. You will also find it much easier to recolour your raster files using the pixel persona. However, I use the Adobe Illustrator trace tool in class to convert some elements to vector which Affinity doesn't have. I also make use of the Pattern Tool in Adobe Illustrator for the second project - you could make use of the Symbols feature in Affinity as a work around. So in short, you won't be able to vectorise some of the elements you import into Affinity from Procreate like I do in the first project, however you will definitely benefit from the other workflows I show in class which you can achieve in Affinity. Hope that answers your question!
@@Lisaglanz thank you so much for your response! Truly appreciate it, and love your work!!
@@juliehansen6633 It's a pleasure! 😘❤
Does this one work in adobe fresco?
Unfortunately not. The kit includes templates for Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Affinity Designer and Procreate. Hope that answers your question. If you have any other questions at all, please don't hesitate to let me know.
Hi Lisa , I am from Thailand, and I have bought your aquarel 1 and 2 , it’s wonderful brushes, but if I could learn it more to draw like the girl you have painted in the showcase of the brushes, I am beginner and would like to draw like you , I have been trying for a while but it’s kind a difficult for me , so… do you have some courses for this ? Please let me know, Thank you
Hi!! So glad you're enjoying the brushes! I have several classes on my website, however they don't cover drawing the girl specifically but include techniques etc that you can apply to your work. I'll include the link in case you want to have a look: www.lisaglanz.com/courses/ I also have a few drawing tutorials on my UA-cam channel, not sure if you've had a chance to look. The beginning stages of learning to draw can be frustrating, and seem like you are not improving. But keep going, I promise if you practice very often you will definitely improve and also develop a style unique to you ❤️🤗
@@Lisaglanz thank you Lisa, i have been watching them , my skill is like nursery so would like to learn more and more , especially kind of drawing the girl in aquarelle's cover. Maybe you will have totorial ,😊❤️
Lisa, thank you so much for this raw video! Can I request the similar video but with Messy Paint Box set? I noticed you only have 1 tutorial video for said set, and I still can't use to its full potential yet. I'm such an idiot 🥲
Not an idiot at all!! Painting in a loose style is actually harder than we think because we tend to want to "control" the outcome too much. It takes quite a bit of practice to let go and just paint freely. I'll definitely try and do more tutorials with the messy paintbox set soon!
How can I get into this class ?
Hi! You can watch the class here: skl.sh/4acyx5k If you don't have a membership, you get access to one month free trial with no obligation to continue. Hope that helps!
Your brushes are my favorite! I really enjoy working with them. ❤ Thank you so much for the new tutorial!
Thank you so much!! I really appreciate that. It's so wonderful to read your comments, I'm super happy you enjoy using them.❤️🤗
I bought it. Which set of brushes are suitable for this?
Thank you so much for your purchase, it's much appreciated! It depends on your style of art. I personally like texture in my work so I enjoy using my Vintage Tales and Nitty Gritty brushes to create motifs. If you prefer smoother linework, you could use a basic smooth inker which is very effective for bolder shapes. Not sure if that helps?
Wow! Lisa you have really knocked these watercolor brushes out of the park. So awesome!! I’m on my way to purchase them.
Yay! So happy to read your comment! Thank you so much xx 🤗
Hi Lisa, Thank you for sharing your process. It so encouraging to try and test freely without stressing on having everything perfect.
Yes absolutely!! I think creating art is meant to be filled with lots of experimenting and having the freedom to change things if we want. That's when the magic happens!
I purchased these brushes and then did a class with someone else and ended up using these. Then saw the link to this class. Both the brush set and the class are amazing. You can see and hear the experience of real water colour come through. I am so looking forward to doing more and more. And, if you offer more classes like this jug one, I will be there. So great to learn by following along in the file you provide.
Thank you so much for sharing that!! Your amazing feedback means the world, and reading how much you enjoy the brushes and tutorial makes my day, thank you!! ❤️ I'm hoping to do more tutorials very soon x
I really love your brushes by the way! 😊
Thank you so much!! So happy you love them ❤️🤗
Thanks so much. It’s great to see your decision making and experimentation as you go along.
So glad you enjoyed that!🤗❤️
This is a marvelous tutorial ‘cause you show us that an illustration has a lot of work behind (not so easy I think). Where can I check the color palettes you used in this particular case? I would love to try it too. 😊
So glad you enjoyed it! You can get the same palette I used from the Treasure Trove (the subscriber area on my website): www.lisaglanz.com/the-treasure-trove/
Super adorable!💕 I love watching you paint and I always learn something new from you🦆 I never knew Gradient Map Tool existed in Procreate! Neat. It seems like you don't have to tweak the blue line on the top, but rather it's easier to swipe/scroll(?) the whole canvas area🐥
Oh my goodness!! Here I've been trying to grab that tiny blue line all along! Thanks so much for the tip! Never occurred to me to just try the canvas area 😅 Glad we could swap tips 😊
Thank you so much for posting an unedited version of your work!!!! It's so refreshing to see your mistakes and decision-making instead of a well rehearsed version. This is extremely helpful especially with artists that deal with perfectionism - like myself. I'd love to see more post like this - even if it's just a quick short and without narration.
So glad you enjoyed that! And I'm so happy it was refreshing for you! We always see the polished version online, never the messy steps it took to get there 😊 I'm hoping to do more of these for sure!
I just love your work. Thank you
Thank you so much! I really appreciate that ❤️🤗
Gosh Lisa, I can watch you all day. I’ve learned so much and you inspire me to keep improving my skills and not give up on my dreams of illustrating my own children’s books and more. I can’t thank you enough for what you’ve done because I’ve been so lost.
So SO happy you are inspired to keep going and improving! You will definitely achieve your dream, with each drawing session you move closer and closer to your goal 😘❤️
Video is x2 speed up, so looks like slow painting.. That means everyone can do it
Yes absolutely! Everyone can do it!
Goodness, I love your work. Feeds my soul.
Wow, thank you! That's the best compliment 🤗❤️
Thank you so much for the much needed inspiration to draw characters!😀 I'm a food illustrator yet I would like to incorporate more characters to interact with the food I draw and I am so intimidated by trying to create characters though I've tried here and there a couple of times. I suppose the best thing to do is just practice, just do it!😉
Yes absolutely! It's always going to be frustrating at first when the gap between what you see in your mind and what you produce on paper is so different! but keep going because with each session that gap get's smaller. Start with simple bodies/shapes to represent the character and focus on the expression, this will give you good results while you improve the body shapes and limbs.
Love everything that you do.
Aww! Thank you, that means a lot xx❤️
Lisa, what a lovely character. Love watching your process. ❤
Thank you so much! So glad you enjoyed watching xx❤️
Very fascinating!!!❤
Glad you enjoyed it 🤗
I love your duck!
Thank you! He sure is a quirky one! 😁
Cute character!
Thank you so much!
Thank you! I thought that it is something wrong with me, because I spend soo much time on choosing palette/blending mode/brushes etc))
Definitely nothing wrong with you 🤗❤️ Sometimes I can spend more time doing that than drawing!! 😅 Hope this gives you more confidence to trust your process 😘
can you design a brush pack that looks like you made paper cuts like with collage? :)
Thanks so much for your suggestion, I'll definitely keep that in mind and add it to my list of possible packs!
i have the aqua pack 1, what are the differences?
That's a great question 😊 The new AquaReal 2 set is more textured which includes canvases that are more grungy texture and have a higher contrast. The set also includes blenders specifically designed to create interesting bleeds and seeps which can add to a more "messy" textured look if that's more your style. I've also included 6 background washes for quickly adding a wash to an area. The original set has more traditional effects with refined texture. It has a balanced variety of brushes that has everything you need to achieve realistic results that are classic and refined. AquaReal 2 answers the needs of artist who prefer a more textured finish in their watercolour. So it depends on your style and what kind of look you want to achieve. Hope that answers your question!
I love your brushes❤ i was going to order this brush set but at check out i was confused about province, if someone is from United states what would they select?
Thank you for your interest in my brushes! So sorry you're having trouble at checkout. When filling in the details, please select the country/region first from the drop down menu (just above the street address), this will update the "Province" to "State". If you're still having problems, please pop me an email to help@lisaglanz.com. Thank you!
I love your art❤❤❤how do you make those procreate brushes?
With lots of love, patience, experimenting and testing! 🤗❤️ Glad you like it!
Omg the whole time I’m like is that a frenchie snoring in the background 😊😂
Hehe!! My little furbag is a huge snorer! Strangely comforting for me 😁🥰
If I wanted to make a portrait like this but of my niece and then print it and put a wooden frame on it,...what canvas should I have in pixels or cm? so it doesn't get lost when printing
It depends on how big you'd like your final print to be. Ideally you want to create your artwork the same size, or bigger, than the final printed size at 300dpi. So if you'd like an A3 print for example, your canvas should be 297mm x 420mm at 300dpi. You only start losing quality if your artwork is low-res and you enlarge it more than 120% of it's original size. So always create the artwork on a canvas that's at least the same size as the final print at 300 dpi resolution. Hope that helps!
Love love loveee músic!!!!❤❤❤
Hello Lisa, I am following your tutorial for this peony. I have a problem and would appreciate your guidance. I am trying to fill in colors without lifting the pencil but find that when I come to a curve or a bend, my curve pops into a straight line and does not follow the lines of the drawing. Is there any setting that I need to look into to avoid this? Appreciate your help. Thank you
It sounds like you are activating Quickshape, this is a feature where Procreate assumes you're trying to draw a particular shape and is activated if you pause for a period of time with your pencil still connected to the screen. You can set the delay of when this is activated to be longer - mine is set to 1 sec. To do that, go the Actions > Prefs > Gesture Control > Quickshape > then set the delay to be longer. Hope that helps!
@@Lisaglanz Thank you Lisa. Appreciate it. I set it to 1 sec. and works perfectly now😍
@@ketybagwalla Yay!! Glad I could help 😊

Hi! I use my AquaReal Watercolour brushes in this tutorial which you can find here: www.lisaglanz.com/shop/aquareal-realistic-watercolour-brushes-for-procreate/ Hope that helps!
Obsessed with your work. I love this song choice, very calming.
Awww! Thank you so much!! Really appreciate your kind comments x
Procrea is Procreate.?😢
Unfortunately the Portrait Creator won't work in Procreate, the layer structure exceeds Procreate's capabilities sadly.
hello Lisa, can you make a tutorial about how to use repeating pattern template with this aquareal brush set?
That's a GREAT tut idea! I'll add it to my list 🤗
